VirtualBox

VirtualBox - система виртуализации, аналогичная VMware Workstation и MS Virtual PC. Поддерживает динамическую трансляцию - выполнение большей части инструкций гостевой ОС производится на реальном оборудовании. В роли гостевой системы могут выступать Windows, GNU/Linux, BSD и другие операционные системы.
Плюсы: компактность, бесплатность, поддержка образов VMware, высокая производительность. Довольно существенный минус: нет возможности посредством drag'n'drop - т.е. схватил и перетащил - переносить файлы на виртуальную машину (придется использовать NAT соединение).

Подскажите, плиз, если возможность автоматически выключать интеграцию мыши в VirtualBox при старте гостевой системы.
Гостевая и хостовая ОС - Windows XP.

AFAIK интеграция указателя мыши контролируется драйвером на гостевой системе. До загрузки драйвера HID будут захватываться витруальной машиной.

Не удалось открыть сессию для виртуальной машины asp Linux.

Failed to attach driver below us! Image is read-only. (VERR_VD_IMAGE_READ_ONLY).

PIIX3 cannot attach drive to the Primary Master (VERR_VD_IMAGE_READ_ONLY).

В первом сообщении VirtualBox прямым текстом сообщает, что не может открыть файл образа диска для записи. Все остальные следствие первого.
Поэтому, для начала, надо проверить наличие файла C:\Users\Илья\Desktop\asp\asp.vdi, его атрибуты и права доступа. Возможно файл в это время был открыт какой-то ещё программой.

Я к вам с техническим вопросом по VirtualBox

Мой комп:
процессор Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2,4GHz (4 ядра);
оперативка 8gb (DDR2-800);
видео Nvidia GeForce 9800GT 512mb;
Windows 7 64 bit

Зачем мне VirtualBox...
Играю в браузерную игру с кликером. Мне нужен запуск нескольких браузеров+кликеров. Устанавливал много разных виртуальных столов - не помогло (столы разные, а мышь одна общая). Друг порекомендовал использовать виртуальную машину. Помогло

Но вот вопрос.. как максимально увеличить кол-во одновременно запущенных машин?
На вирт. машинах стоят Win XP.
2 вирт машины жрут процессор на 55-60%;
3 вирт машины на 75-90.. и уже работать на основном пк тяжеловато
4 даже не стал пробовать..

На 1 вирт. машину выделяю:
1 ядро ЦП; 768мб оперативки ; 64mb видео ; и 10gb HDD.
Ограничитель загрузки ЦП не ставлю - тогда браузер с кликером еле бегают

Будет ли толк, если вместо WinXP буду юзать Win 98? Или процессор также жрать будет?
Если буду новый компьютер собирать - чему больше уделять внимания? Процессору?

В идеале, ставьте linux, а на нём уже виртуалки гоняйте.

Да, все всегда будут "жрать", но чем ОС старее, тем меньше.

Да, он всегда будет 'сердцем' системы. Но в вашем случае всё-таки рыскайте где ядер побольше...

Наверное тогда лучше выбрать процессор AMD FX-8350 (8 ядер)?

Да, эксперименты показали, что нужен процессор с многопоточностью

Есть ультрабук с процессором Core i3-2367M 1,4GHz.
У него всего 2 ядра, но благодаря технологии Hyper-Threading, он обрабатывает 4 потока. И справляется точно также с 2 вирт.машинами + хост, как основной пк.

Есть старенький пк, с процессором AMD Dual-Core Atlon 64 x2 (2 ядра / 2 потока):
Осиливает только 1 вирт.машину + хост.. с нехорошими тормозами. Загрузка флеш-игры дольше на 8-12сек.

Это навеяло на мысль, что проще купить б\у ноутбук\ультрабук\неттоп основанный на процессорах в 4 потока
