I bought IEEE 1394 Controller and my OS can not identificate him. I have Win 98 and WinXP pro. Can you please tell me, why it can be? I tried to insert to all of the PCI ports but no results. Thank you.

Try to install the proper hardware driver.

But my friend's computer identified the hardware without any driver. (He has WinME).

Do you have absolutely identical hardware?
And the BIOS setup features are the same?
I think not.
You need consult with hardware technicians about a compatibility of your new controller and your motherboard/bios.

Hey! WinME is not Win98! It has the new drivers set (that's why same system called Millenium Edition)!
